I just discovered that my favorite resource for 3D movies has a forum! I'm hoping I will be inspired enough to post here on a regular basis, since there are not enough resources concerning 3D movies, and I have become a HUGE 3D snob! I get to read on entertainment sites and mainstream newspapers all the time about how 3D is a fad on the way out, the same as it always was. This pisses me off, and if you are reading this, it might annoy the crap out of you as well.
A little about me...my name is Ed, and I've always been a huge movie buff! When I realized I had rated over 2000 movies on Netflix (just the star ratings, not actual reviews,) I became very concerned about my life! I drove to see Avatar in 3D at the IMAX when it came out, and that pretty much sold me. I currently have an LG 42" passive 3D television, and a Sony HMZ-T1 personal 3D viewer, which is quite possibly the coolest tech device I have ever owned. I'm currently trying to rewatch all the 3D movies I own on the Sony, so most of the reviews I post will probably be from my impressions on that. Incidentally, I bought my Sony player for a great price. I would NOT recommend it to anyone for the list price. If anyone is interested about it, let me know. I had trouble finding people's reactions to it when I was looking to buy one.
I hope other people will continue to post their reviews and impressions about 3D movies on this site. It is hard to find a discussion board where people actually watch and enjoy 3D movies. I just posted to another website about the new Xman movie (which is great) where someone said the post conversion to 3D was terrible. I told him it was shot in 3D (and the 3D was very good in the movie), and he said he refused to believe it, because he took his glasses off during the film and it was exactly the same.
Anyway, I will be posting. Thanks for reading.
